Catching Fire

Getting ready for the big Thanksgiving feast. Wanted to get my shopping done a little early.

On the phone, taking care of business.

We’ve done it! After a long process we are all fired up with our new gas fireplace. I had to zoom in for the shot because around the fireplace is incomplete and there are holes all over the wall. But that is not what is important, what is important is the heat produced by this fire that is enjoyed by all the occupants of our home.

Prepping for a long night of work.

We were so happy to get a visit from our dear friends Cam, Ness and Mini-Knapps. We’ve really missed them since their move and loved catching up with them, even though it wasn’t long enough. They make some pretty adorable kids too.

Here’s what we are left with for the time being around our fireplace. Again, the fact that we have fire far outweighs the fact that there are holes all over our wall. (For reference, we did have an older wood burning fireplace here before. Our house has electric heat, which as you can imagine, is not way efficient, so we chose to replace the old fireplace with the new gas one to use as the main source of heat for the upstairs. And to sip hot cocoa and read books next to.)
