Meerkat Manor

Doug loves Scooby Doo fruit snacks (but only Scooby Doo, don’t make the mistake of buying the off brand like I did). Apparently kittens like Scooby snacks too.

We just inherited my mom’s deep fryer so we made home made egg rolls and doused them in Siracha. Siracha can go on just about anything.

We got Thai food in the middle of the week because it sounded so good. I ventured away from my usual curry and tried their eggplant/tofu dish (I told you, I cannot get enough eggplant) and it was a definite winner. Why can’t I make good eggplant at home?

Squeaker doesn’t like me that much (he prefers Doug to anyone) but sometimes he graces me with his presence.

These were our snacks to get us through a disc of 24. 24 as in the TV show that aired several years ago… We bought season 1 for fun to get us through this last month of winter. It’s been fun watching because it brings back memories of when I lived in Olympia and my roommate, Randi, and I downed several seasons together. She was a single lady about my mom’s age and worked at the Senate and I worked at the House of Representatives. She became a good friend and a lot of our bonding time was spent late at night after work yelling at Jack Bauer on TV. It was random that I ended up renting a room from Randi but it worked out because I just loved her. So, what I’m getting at by the picture of the grapes below is that I miss living in Washington while I watch really old episodes of 24.

Surprise surprise. Saturday was spent working on the remodel project. My dad was here helping all day again. We have to move the “pantry” from one wall to another. As evidenced by the photo below, my mom and I are really helpful while the men are working. We spent 30 minutes just blowing catnip flavored bubbles for the cats. We call this shot “The Meerkat”. On a side note, Professor has learned how to open cupboards by himself and is wreaking havoc under my sinks. I thought that was impossible sans opposable thumbs? That’s why we call him The Professor.

Wishbone after Sunday dinner. I got lucky.  Secondly, my mom has been working on a project of putting all their old reel film clips onto a dvd and it’s taken countless hours. They showed us the final project tonight and it was awesome! Good job, mom.
