Tis the Season

Casey was out of town so I was lucky enough to be Brittney’s date to her office Christmas party at the Mystique Theatre. I’m a way better date than Casey anyway (just kidding, I’m a close second). We really struggled taking a decent selfie in the low lighting and low quality phone cameras. We tried both the bathroom and then out front to try and incorporate the sign for an artistic factor (didn’t work). Brittney is all too used to me enforcing that we must “take our photo of the day!”.

This little guy was Doug and my Christmas tree for our first four Christmases. I bought some new tiny little decorations for him and some cool copper lights. It took about two days for the cats to completely destroy it. They saw it as a giant cat toy with removable mini-toys. I’ve just left it like this now, no use trying to fix it at this point.

I was in charge of the office gifts for our Christmas party. They took up more room than expected.

We had our office Christmas party in Park City this year. Had to borrow my boss’s SUV to fit all the items that we needed to transport.

Usually I’m in such a rush to get everything set up for our Christmas parties that I’m left with no time to get myself ready. This year we had a few hours to spare so I took a nice bubble bath and read a book then proceeded to completely occupy every square inch of the hotel counter space. Whilst getting out of the tub, I noticed a little blinking red light in the mirror which was a little concerning, I feel like I should be informed if there are cameras in my bathroom, ya know? So Doug and I did a little investigating to find out there was a TV in  the mirror. But we couldn’t figure out how to get it to work so we called the front desk to send someone up. After several minutes he declared that it was broken and he could replace it first thing the next morning. We told him not to worry about it as we were to check out first thing the next morning anyway. After he left I said to Doug “Up until five minutes ago I didn’t even know that mirror-TV’s even existed. Now I’m so sad mine is not working because I want to watch Seinfeld in my mirror while I do my hair!” (I should point out that I was joking.) First world problems, right? Yikes.

The venue was beautiful, the dinner divine and it was so nice to catch up with everyone whom we don’t get to see often (we have offices spread across the states).

We barely made it home in time for Doug’s cousin, Kim’s wedding reception. It was so beautiful and she made a lovely bride. Purple and silver were her colors and it looked so majestic and magical. Our camera phones did not do justice.

We had a Cul-de-sac Christmas party on Sunday which included a white elephant gift exchange, cookies and all our neighbors in one place. We had so much fun.
