(Continuation of last two posts)
Our last day of vacation we decided to spend with no plans other than lots of beach time and I wanted to finish the book I was reading. We accomplished both goals and had an incredible day.
Doug borrowed his dad’s trick kite and really got the hang of it; it was so cool to watch. I got to finish my book with the ocean waves in the background and then took lots of pictures. My mom gathered “treasures”. My dad got our three other kites going so we had four total going at once and it was serene.
Made a fire and s’mores right on the beach. There was not a way to make this day more perfect. Well, maybe kicking the temperature up a notch but I’m not complaining.
That’s me in the yellow raincoat. It was cold. Or at least I was cold. My dad started calling me “deadliest catch”. Better than “unrecognizable pile of laundry”…right?
Here’s a few shots of the house we stayed in.
Sadly all good things must come to an end. We made the trip on Sunday straight back home, 12.5 hours. Listened to two books on CD (our favorite road trip activity) and ate lots of snacks my mom packed for us. It was a long day but lots of the drive was stunning.
