(Continuation of the post below)
We flew in early to NYC and checked into our hotel then we straight to our favorite little Chinese restaurant we discovered last year. It’s the only place that’s come even close to authentic Chinese food and I crave real Chinese food all the time so it was mandatory we stopped here.
Here’s a picture- mainly so I can look at it later and just think about the goodness that is real Chinese food. Oh Xiangtan, we miss you so.
It’s not a trip to New York if you don’t squeeze in a Broadway. We chose “Once”. Fabulous show, the music was incredible.
The next day greeted us with rain rain rain. That umbrella was purchased that morning and got more use in that one day than any other umbrella I’ve ever owned.
We were lucky enough to stumble upon “Broadway in the Park” and got to see several Broadway casts from current shows perform
Ethiopian food for lunch from Hell’s Kitchen. Because, where else can you eat Ethiopian food? It was good, we both enjoyed it. It’s all served with “bread” which were more like thick crepes. There are no utensils, you just use pieces of the bread to eat the food gloop.
One of us had the brilliant idea to go to an off-Broadway play… Potted Potter. Basically two British blokes acting out all seven Harry Potter books in 70 minutes. Sounded like a home run to us: we love Harry Potter and I usually eat up dry British humor. Well, our first clue should have been when we walked in and realized we were some of the oldest people there, certainly some of the only adults that went without kids. Not the first time that’s happened to us. We laughed a few times but probably wouldn’t recommend this one in case you were thinking about going.
The rest of the day was pretty much spent getting soaking wet.
Next day: Osh Kosh, WI for the air show. Allegedly the largest airshow… now I’ve heard both in the states and some people claim in the world. We’ll stick with the states.
Now here are lots more pictures of airplanes. Again, not going to pretend like I know what they are all called.
