I was so excited when I got an email from my cousin, Siouxsie, whom I haven’t seen in 14 years, letting us know she was going to be in Boise for a few weeks. Her husband was coming up from Texas for business so Siouxsie and her daughter decided to tag along. We wanted to make a weekend trip of it to see them, my brother and Doug’s three sisters.
We took the day off on Friday and drove straight to JT and Kacie’s new home. They just moved in and it’s beautiful and perfect for them.
Doug and I took a walk with the girls to a little playground near their house.
We ordered some pizza and my cousin Siouxsie, her husband Rob, and daughter Kyrie arrived; followed by Tara and her boyfriend, Mike. We had such a nice evening catching up and getting to know everyone again.
Aya called Doug “Unc” when she was first learning to talk and we’ve reinforced that so it stuck.
The next morning we went to a movie with the Eliesons.
Then we met up with Diana, Brayden and Maddi in town. Maddi never ceases to amaze me with her endless grins.
We got to go see their new house. It’s so cute, especially the chandelier Diana found… love it.
My co-worker recommended this little French restaurant, Le Coq Rouge, to try in Boise. I made reservations (good thing too, they were booked for the night) and we decided to give it a try. It had the best atmosphere, soft live music in the background and everything was made from scratch by a French chef.
Doug went out on a limb and ordered escargot for his appetizer. They were surprisingly good, I’d order them again.
I ordered Rabbit for my main course along with Chris, Mandy and Brady went with Lamb shank and Doug got the Salmon. All very good.
The three course meal spanned over 3 hours and was so fun and relaxing.
We finished off the evening swimming at the hotel with Kyr and Rob and burned maybe 1/1000th of the calories we just consumed.
We had so much fun getting to see everyone and catch up with. Hopefully it’s not another 14 years before we see my cousins again :)

It was SO fun to see you guys. You were so awesome to come out here. We already miss you so I guarantee we won’t even come close to 14 years for the next round. ;)
