Last Sunday night we had a major snowstorm. We woke up to several inches of snow and it was still coming down. All the snow on this chair was from just the night before.
I mentioned we are remodeling our front living room/dining room area. Felix was helping us with our inspiration photos.
Our neighbor needed help with her computer so Doug and I went over there and I played with her cute birds while Doug fixed the computer. This is Cinnamon.
Our co-worker came up to Doug and I the other day and {sarcastically} asked us how our two cats and bird were doing. The conversation proceeded with him explaining to us that we are exactly like an old couple. He listed several things (this was all in a joking funny manner) and they rang so true that at one point we looked at each other with realization dawning in both of our eyes that we are, in fact, just like an old couple. I won’t list everything that was brought up in the conversation…mainly because it’s embarrassing (and hilarious). A few of them were our choice of pets (obviously), we love oatmeal, we frequent the same restaurant AND go there really early- i.e. before 6:00 to beat the dinner rush, we don’t have cable/satellite/netflix- instead we just watch old sitcoms over and over and we go to bed early. The list goes on and on but I think that’s enough to make my point for now. The funniest part to me was how well our co-worker knew us and that this thought had never occurred to us before. That night we went to our favorite Chinese restaurant that we go to weekly at 5:30 PM and ordered the same thing we always do. We are embracing our geriatric idiosyncrasies.
We took the day off to get some things done around the house. That night my friend Katie and her husband Steven came up to visit from Utah and we spent the evening playing Rook (does this choice of activity further drive in my last point?)
Two of my best friends have Groundhog Day birthdays. We had a surprise party for my friend Sky to celebrate her 30th. We did, however, have to skip our yearly tradition of watching Groundhog Day; I’ve watched that every Groundhog Day for probably 6+ years.
Drive home from another delicious Sunday dinner in Rexburg.

Aly! You look really good in the picture with your girlfriends! I loved the description of how you and Doug are like an old couple. My father-in-law has commented a few times on the Christmas card you guys sent us and I don’t think he believes me when I tell him you are actually pretty normal. :) Sky has said a few times that if he and Doug go before we do you and I will be crazy cat ladies that live together. I’m coming to Rexburg the first week of April! Let’s plan a lunch date with everyone!
