My dad’s birthday was April 19th and as I mentioned, we celebrated it a little early when we were over in Boise for the blessing. Well, little did he know my mom still has a few tricks up her sleeve. Somehow between her, myself and JT we planned a pretty epic surprise party for my dad. It was a milestone birthday, him turning 40 and all (you did say you were 40, right dad?) so we wanted to make it special. My mom invited friends and neighbors over. While her and my dad went out to eat, we all showed up, including JT and Kacie all the way from Boise! He was definitely surprised; a nearly impossible feat with my dad. Thank you to all our friends and neighbors for making the night so great!
Balloons are always a hit with small ones!
Doug and I rented a camera lens for a week (I didn’t even know you could do that, but it’s a pretty good idea if you’re trying to decide on a lens and would like to try it out first). So after the party we had my dad posing with the cat. Which is not out of the norm. We usually take at least a few pictures of Milo every time we go to my parents house, which I’ll admit is a little strange. But look how good of a model he is!
Now, brace yourself. I’m about to unveil Doug and my favorite picture ever. I’m just so happy I caught this moment because it has brought us a lot of joy. Milo wasn’t looking at the camera and I was getting mad, so my dad tried blowing on his head so he’d turn and look at me…and this happened:
That night we played “balloony” with Aya for a really long time. Like I said, kids and balloons are always a hit. She was giggling the whole time and it was so cute to watch her try her hardest to catch the balloon.
