Doug hit the big two-seven on Sunday. He wasn’t too excited about his birthday, and the daunting task of being older, but I’m always excited for birthdays. He convinced me to let him open all his presents the night before. Which wasn’t too hard because I can’t hardly stand waiting for someone to open a present. Now that I think of it, he actually convinced me to let him open a present on St Patrick’s day (three days before his actual birthday) too. Guess I’m sort of a push-over.
Sunday, Doug’s actual day of birth, was spent sleeping and…well that was pretty much it until we made it to Rexburg for the “party”. Nana even made it! We had so much fun at the Webster’s. Janet made a delicious dinner, we had a yummy ice cream cake and Doug got some great presents from the fam. We all had a good laugh watching Colton make his “funny faces” but unfortunately the shots we got turned out a little out-of-focus.
After visiting and eating lots and lots of food we went over to the Belnap’s. Wes & Marlena sent Doug on a scavenger hunt to find his presents. The last clue was under Milo’s bed, a.k.a. “Doug’s best friend”. Doug had fun bugging Milo with his new mini-helicopter. Milo wasn’t too impressed.
See? Getting older isn’t so bad, is it Doug?

Jason and I own 2 mini helicopters…yes 2.
oh Milo.
Who is in the picture that your mom is holding in the… picture….? “Oh Marlena” (said in an accent….)
Yeah…that’s a picture of Doug, Me and Milo with a caption that says “Milo Time” that my mom printed and framed for the fridge for one of Doug’s gifts! (probably his favorite gift too)
ahhh this makes me so homesick!!! Wish we could have been there :( Looks like doug had a good birthday. I heard that he got the perfect pushups from my dad LOL. oh Rob…
Happy Birthday, Doug! I know I’m a little bit late. Tyler is the same as you with presents. Usually I have to stop him from making me open the presents early. Our first couple Christmases, we had no presents for Christmas because we opened them as they came…oops!
Getting older is weird. You always feel the same inside, but the age keeps getting to be a bigger number! At least it means we’re still alive.
So…27, eh? I’m pretty sure that’s the age when the body actually starts aging and people finally start looking older. (how’s that for a nice bday gift?! aren’t you glad I told you that?). It seems to be pretty true. :-) Good thing I’m only 24 yrs old…
Loved the pics, even though I didn’t know most of the people. :-) Looks like a great time!
