Doug and I arrived home 3 weeks ago and have been happily adjusting back to the American lifestyle. After little sleep, a 21 hour flight plus the ride home from SLC we were pretty exhausted and poor Doug had to be at work the following morning at 8:00 AM! He’s happy to be back at the office and have a more regular schedule; I’ve been keeping busy unpacking and cooking. I really missed cooking the last 5 months! Even going to the grocery has been exciting for me, a chore I’ve always disliked. However, the snow is something we could do without. It’s been so nice to catch up with family and friends and to see how much everyone’s children have grown.
I’ve had a few people ask me when I would make my next post and my response has been that the posts will probably be few and far between now that we’re back home, turns out we’re pretty boring people so my material is lacking :)
The week we got home we had a Thanksgiving dinner with all 4 of our parents. It was so delicious! Although, once the table was set and the food was ready it was a challenge to pry us out of bed; both Doug and I really struggled with jet lag this time around and were so tired. Strange, because after about two days in China we were in the swing of things, but for some reason the trip west really hit us. It took a solid two weeks for us to sleep through the night and feel normal again.
Last week my mom made me a birthday dinner including a double layer double chocolate cake. It’s worth getting older if I get two parties and chocolate cake! Too bad there was no laser tag this time though. We played some games and Doug played with the cat.

The (fake) pizzas from the Xiangtanese Pizza Hut don’t have the same taste since you left.
Everything’s fine guys ?
Everything is great, same same. We miss you and I crave dumplings every single day. Too bad i cant cook Chinese food. I tried the other night and it was a disaster
