Here are some pictures of things we see daily around XiangTan University.
If we take a shortcut from our side of campus to the other side, we pass a sewer and some cool gardens (but the proximity of the two is a little close for comfort).
I have two options of routes to go to class. One route I will pass the following:
Oh, hi Doug!
I will arrive at the Yifu Building.
The students love to study outside the building on nice days.
My other route has the following:
Someone just recently raked away the garbage and planted a mini garden. What a nice improvement.
If I’m lucky I’ll walk by on laundry/pig carcass day!
The (above) picture isn’t great, but it’s the best we could do without breaking in through the fence. It wouldn’t have been so funny to me if they hadn’t have used regular clothes hangers and then chose to hang “it” up to dry with the rest of their laundry!
There are these smalls areas of junky exercise equipment scattered throughout campus. Occasionally I’ll actually see people using them. Beats paying a gym membership I guess!
Evidently it’s ok to hang your laundry in common areas here. Some days I really missing having a dryer!
I usually choose the latter option because it is a bit quicker and not uphill, although not as peaceful. Hope you enjoyed the tour.

One response to “XTU”
I had been wanting to see what it looked like along that long path you walk everyday to the XTU. Now I understand better and can envision how beautiful it must be. Thank you for sending this.
