My coworker went to a conference and brought me back this delicious Dominican chocolate. I suspect that it wasn’t all out of the kindness of his heart; it’s more likely that he got the chocolate without realizing it was 72% dark, thought it was disgusting and had to offload it on someone. I was happy to oblige.
The mail came at work and this picture was on the cover of another company’s quarterly report. Like, someone chose this to be on the cover and someone else approved it. They must’ve dug pretty deep into the old stock photo archives to locate this gem. I thought it was pretty funny but no one was around to show so I threw it in the recycle pile. It re-emerged a few hours later, much to my amusement, and got passed around the office. The main points to note are: the three handed handshake while one person in the threesome isn’t even looking and has her other hand on another person’s…?? whilst wearing their 80’s geometric tennis outfits . We were all in fits of laughter by the time we set it down. It was funny to me the first time I saw it, but way funnier when someone else not only noticed it but harvested it out of the rubbish pile to share with others. I’m just passing the favor along. You’re welcome.
My husband is really smart. He likes computers. He just built himself a new computer. I’m not even quite sure what that entails, all I know is we got a boatload of boxes delivered on our doorstep, I went to baby shower and came back several hours later to find a new computer with lightning speed and other specs that I can’t remember. Pretty awesome.
It’s not a good thing when I put off doing a post for more than a week because that leaves me trying to find a missing picture from two weeks ago. I just spent nearly two hours trying to find Thursday the 20th’s photo and was afraid we were left with a picture of the inside of my mouth, which is something I didn’t even like looking at (I burned the roof of my mouth on potatoes so Doug took a picture so I could see. It was really painful and took 12 days to heal, don’t burn the roof of your mouth) then I found Doug and told him my dilemma and he was able to pull up a whole cluster of cat pictures that were taken that day. (Surprise surprise).
The Dealio put together a team to walk in Relay for Life with Doug’s family, a few friends, my parents and some of their interns. It was such a good experience and we walked in honor of Doug’s brother, Steve. Doug made everyone shirts with The Dealio’s logo on the front and Steve’s baseball number on the back. Despite the cold, we all had a really good time and it was a really neat experience. The whole “team” was there until about 11PM when they did the luminaria ceremony then we split up the rest of the night into shifts (each team is supposed to have someone walking on the track from 6PM-6AM). Doug and I came back for the 4AM shift and walked until the closing ceremony at 6AM. I was so cold and desperate to not freeze so I gathered all the warm clothes from my parents closet I could find at 3:45AM. Doug said I looked like an unrecognizeable pile of laundry, I was way passed caring what I looked like at this point though, obviously.
We were pretty tired the next day and spent the evening watching a movie with popcorn.
Supermoon.

Omigosh I love the giant pile of laundry. I love how I’ve gotten to a point where I don’t care how awesome or cool I look in my fancy burton coat when I go boarding…all I care about is staying warm and life is so much happier.
hahaha, unrecognizable pile of laundry.
Also, the company ad made me laugh. Thanks Alyson!
