Some people forget that April does not necessarily equal warmth and turn on their sprinklers prematurely.
A nice girls evening out with my friend Brianna. Toes don’t really make for a great picture but at least the pedicures turned out well. Then again, Doug thought my black flower was an ant…so… at least we had fun.
Refreshing water at work.
Happy Birthday, dad! Yummy burgers, delicious cake and Life of Pi is what this new 62 year old asked for.
Dinner, a movie and ice cream with these lovely friends. I should’ve posted the picture of Casey’s choice of ice cream: mint mixed with cotton candy ice cream with gummy bears and sprinkles on top but I didn’t want to gross anyone out (I kid).
I got a special crown made by my darling niece at Sunday dinner.
Tippy toes.
Game night with some new friends/neighbors. They have more games than anyone else on the planet, I love it.
Evening shadows.
We measured our sleeping stretchy cat and it read Professor Plum: Practically Perfect in Every Way.
We took the day off on Friday so we could work on the remodel. And work we did. We were at it until 10:30PM with a long way still to go. Doug was making precise cuts on moulding all day and I was caulking and nail setting, none of which are very enjoyable jobs. We keep telling ourselves it will all be worth it when we’re done…. right?
Saturday we worked all day again but only made it until about 6PM and were so exhausted that we had to take a little break. We were cleaning up for the day and Doug was trying to sweep up all the sawdust from the garage and he found this kite in there. We’re pretty sure that neither of us has ever seen it before so we don’t know where it came from and it is missing the wooden dowel that hooks across the front but we really wanted to go fly it. We duct-taped a skinny leftover piece of trim to the front (we have leftover pieces of junk coming out our ears over here). We got it in the air but it was totally top heavy and didn’t last long, we’re pretty lazy engineers. However, it was enough to rejuvenate us after a few long days so I consider it a success plus it has a cheerful goofy grin that smiles down at you and you can’t be grumpy after that.
New game at my parent’s house, I would tell you what it is called but I really can’t remember and it’s only been about 90 minutes, but I can tell you that it was really fun and I think it’s Australian.

I love the pic of you and Kate. So cute. And I love the one on your kitty on the piano. His face is so funny.
