Mondays are the worst. Except when you have sweet Jazz tickets and get to leave early from work to go mega-feast and watch the game. Doug and I took our dads down and we all had a blast. I’m still trying to work off all the calories we ingested at the feast and plus the ones at second feast during half time. It always makes for a really late night but it’s worth it.
Our cat: The Professor.
Our cats.
Besides our co-workers, the most social interaction we’ve been getting lately is at Home Depot. We’re there probably 3 nights a week on average. I used to hate going there as a kid and I don’t really love it now but it’s kind of growing on me. When you know several of the employees by name is that a good thing or a bad thing? This particular night we were headed out after about a two hour fruitless night of looking at moulding types and I saw this picture at the exit. We were dying laughing the whole way home (it’s only a 4 minute drive, but still). So this guy’s last name is Holmes, he’s the Manager of Home Depot located on Holmes Ave. I realize it’s not really that funny but it killed us the other night. I guess we were a bit punch drunk/bored. We have a theory that the job was between him and another guy and the other guy was more qualified but they just had to choose Holmes to run the store. How could you not? It’s his destiny.
My sweet parents gave up another weekend to come help us put up baseboards. Which is a great sacrifice because baseboards aren’t very fun. And this is only the tip of the ol’ moulding-iceburg that we’re tapping into. Here’s Felix checking out the air-compressor we used to put the suckers up. (Still not done with them by the way. We’re not great DIYers)
After a long day of baseboards nailing, stud finding, caulking and painting (ok, let’s be fair here, my mom and I are really bad at finding studs. My dad and Doug gave us one job to help and we couldn’t even do it. We made lunch and played with the cats instead.) I was excited to have a girls night out with some buddies. Aubsins was in town and I was so happy I got to see her! She chose Newer New Fongs (there’s another name but I can’t remember it. They’re all the same.) and we were all smiling because we love fried rice.
We made ultimate cuddle-couch for Conference on Sunday. Partly out of necessity since the living room is a disaster and partly because ultimate cuddle-couch is awesome. Oh and just look at those sexy baseboards in the background. Ow ow.

A lot of things about this post made me LOL…but for reals LOL….I’m not just writing it as a courtesy laugh. I HEART ultimate cuddle couch, Newer New Fongs?! (haha), and we did love that fried rice! It was so good to see you and I hope it isn’t that long until we get together next time!
