Aubrey had the genius idea awhile back for an annual girls-trip with our high school buddies. This year, for the first year, we landed on Vegas.
I am seriously so lucky to have the friends I do. I just love ’em. Chelsea, Aubrey Brittney and I all made it for this trip. We missed everyone who couldn’t come this year- but we’ll catch you next time.
The first night after we checked in we wanted to go get sushi. We stayed at Mandalay Bay so naturally they had a yummy sushi restaurant on site. It just so happened to be the same restaurant Doug and I ate at a few years back when we were in town. However, Doug and I did not have the luck of free entertainment: The Guilty Pleasures. Seriously? They looked like a bad version of the Village People. One of them was dressed as a captain and also referred to himself as “Captain”. There is no better way to enjoy dinner than while listening to the Guilty Pleasures.
After dinner we thought we’d check out a few shops at Mandalay. Which led to checking out more shops in the next hotel over and so on until we found ourselves tired and forlorn all the way at Caesars Palace with only one way back: walking on our blistered feet. The walk really wouldn’t have been bad, it would have been quite enjoyable, unfortunately none of us wore the proper clothing or shoes for such a trek and we paid for it on the way back! All in the name of shopping, right girls?
Day 2 was shopping day. I really mean it when I say shopping. This day we were prepared with full wallets and good shoes. We were out for 12 hours. It was well worth it. Why can’t we have any decent stores here? Anyone?
We rewarded ourselves with Cheesecake Factory for dinner.
The next day we spent at the pool. They had a lazy river so I was happy as a clam. I love lazy rivers.
I tried to hold my phone in a way while taking the photo below so as to avoid showing the disaster that four girls sharing a bathroom are capable of. So. Much. Stuff.
Oh Look, there are the blue craft scissors we bought so I could cut Aubrey’s mullet.
Then we got ready and grabbed some Mexican food at MGM.
Next up was the Cirque du Soleil: Ka. It was seriously incredible. They claim it’s the most expensive stage in the world and I believe it. I’ve never seen anything quite like it. Technology.
Now let me take a minute to complain about the class-A moron who thought that a flight from Vegas-IF departing at 6:05AM was a good idea. Our alarms went off at 2:45…IN THE MORNING! Worst ever. We did make our flight and only one of us (who shall remain nameless) lost our phone on the airplane. So, all-in-all, a great trip.
Love you girls!
