So Vanessa called me back in February to let me know Jerry Seinfeld was coming to Boise.THE Jerry Seinfeld. We didn’t even hesitate and instantly bought our tickets. The months leading up to the big day were riddled with texts back and forth of Seinfeld quotes. We had to be prepared.
We started off the day with Vanessa’s car breaking down. Always a good start to a trip. Especially when that was the car we were going to drive. I picked up my poor stranded friend and we headed south to Poci to pick up Cameron (her husband). We stopped to buy snacks and then made a little detour trip to the famous Mad Mikes pawn shop. All I have to say is: Awesome. It was all I hoped for and more. We loaded up on $1 DVD’s, germs and who knows what else…Hepatitis? and headed straight to Boise.
We stopped at JT’s office (which was beautiful and right along the river). Vanessa and I had to use the restroom and her stall was out of toilet paper (what’re the odds?) and if she wasn’t laughing so hard we could have done the “I don’t have a square to spare. I can’t spare a square” bit. She was just laughing too hard.
We were starving by this point but still had an hour until dinner. So we stuffed our faces with Cadbury Eggs (Ness had saved these all the way from Easter…what discipline) and Cara Cara oranges to tide us over.
We walked around the greenbelt and took this not-so-great shot of Dougie and I at the river.
PF Changs was the next stop. Food glorious food. I can’t even express how much i miss real Chinese food. I long for it. JT, Kacie, Aya, Brynn and Chris, Meredith and little Avy all came in to meet us for dinner. I wish we could’ve seen them longer but at least we had an hour together!
Jerry was next. We’d read his “Halloween” book and listened to his stand-up the whole drive over- which actually made us nervous, we were afraid it’d be all old material. But….it wasn’t! He was fantastic and we were crying from laughter half the time! His set was a little over an hour but went by so fast. We loved every second. The man is a legend.
Then…back to the car to drive all the way back home. What were we thinking? Doug and I decided not to take the next day off so we made it to work at 8:00 the next day. Props to us. Being tired was totally worth it for Jerry. We had such nice company on the ride home too; Cam and Ness graciously stayed awake and kept us entertained the whole way home. Thanks guys.

Just a few things:
1. Thank you for posting this
2. I don’t have any dicipline, especially in the department concerning cadbury and it’s affiliates. I just buy LOTS of bags when they are in season.
3. I had the best mad mikes run EVER last week….new releases and other goodies. I nearly called you, but after buying everything, i figured there was no point in you driving here only to find the place cleaned out.
4. I miss you.
It’s almost time for Mad Mikes round 2 and Mr. Judd. Then…bug lamp! I’m so excited. I miss you and I can’t wait to see you.
Please bring more cadbury’s.
