The Final Countdown

WE DID IT!

We have taken a photo every single day of two thousand thirteen. We are very proud of ourselves. That’s not to say we are necessarily proud of all our pictures, there are are a lot that questionable in quality, at best. That’s not really the point. The point is we have a picture journal for our whole year, lame days, fun days, cat days and all.

Frosted cherries. Everything was covered in a magical frost this day.

Nativity at Mandy and Brady’s house. Kate got really into her part of being the shepherd.

Doug and I both bought each other really stupid t-shirts as one of our gifts to each other unbeknownst to the other person. Doug opened up his and rolled his eyes and laughed and I said, “Well, you’re wearing that today.” Then I opened my shirt and rolled my eyes and he responded, “Well, you have to wear that today!” And so begins our tradition of dorky shirts for Christmas.

Doug wrapped one of my gifts in the shape of a vacuum as a joke. I thought it was hilarious. Especially when I realized that’s what took him so long wrapping presents. (The gift was actually a kindle, so no where near a vacuum cleaner).

My brother and his family came up the day after Christmas to visit for a few days so we had second Christmas on Thursday. My parents got baby Jonathan a beard hat, ya know, since he’s prepubescent. He loved it.

I also got Doug and I matching flannel shirts.

Friday we went to a movie and then played card games late into the night at our house with JT and Kacie.

The next day the girls got facials and then we all went sledding afterward. We had a blast, I haven’t been sledding in years and had to dig out all my old snow clothes from highschool.

We love getting Christmas cards every year! One of my most favorite things.

We have pictures throughout the whole year following the progress of mister meyer lemon tree and I’m happy to report that we have real lemons that are ready to eat! Pretty cool.

Last night of the year with Brittney and Casey eating tapas and bathwater steak.

I need to point out that Brittney is in the photo below, she blends in pretty well with the drapes so she might be hard to spot.
