Babies, Cats and Nachos

I lucked out by getting to have lunch with my oldest and dearest friend, Melinda, and finally got to meet Miss Millie. Melinda has the cutest offspring ever.

The pictures of the day really went downhill after Monday’s. We will have to up our game going forward.

For those who didn’t know (which is probably everyone), Tuesday was National Cat Day. So naturally the picture of the day had to be of our cats. Somehow this is the best one we got. We take hundreds of pictures of our cats on a day to day basis and the one day that we needed a good one of the cats this is the best we came up with. It is funny though, Professor is holding Felix’ hand.

Our Halloween trick-or-treat from Rob and Janet was Plum Loco for dinner. These two and their mucho nachos.

Doug dressed up as “50 Shades of Grey” for work on Halloween and I dressed up as a ladybug. I should probably point out that no one actually dresses up for Halloween at our office, but I like to be festive. And no, neither of us have read “50 Shades of Grey” nor plan on reading it. We went back and forth with Doug’s outfit whether he should be a Communist Laborer or 50 Shades but again, no one dresses up at work so no one would think to ask what he was so it really didn’t matter either way.

Funny story about my dress- I wore it years ago to church and I taught 4-5 year old kids in primary. One of the little girls came in and plopped down next to me and said, without preamble, “I like ladybugs too.” After that I could no longer hide the fact from myself that I look like a giant bug when I wear this dress, so now it only makes its appearance on Halloween.

I dressed up as a witch-type thing when we got home from work and I had so much fun passing out candy to the cute little kids. Every time I shut the door I thought to myself “This is such a weird holiday…I just gave candy to complete strangers dressed as horses and superheros. And I loved it.” I had a few adults, like full blown adults at least over 40 years old, that came with their kids and brought their own pillow cases for me to drop candy in. And no, it wasn’t a pillowcase for a kid that was too small to hold it or something, it was clearly the adult’s own candy stash. Isn’t there some sort of age limit? I’m still new at this.

We need to start tearing this guy out to replace it.

Doug installed a shelf for me and the cats needed to inspect all the drill bits before allowing Doug to move forward with his task. Protective little buggers. He did get the green light from them and now I have a new shelf.

I did mention how lame our pictures were this week, right? We even had friends with cute kids over for dinner but forgot to get out the ol’ camera.

Professor has some pretty big shoes to fill.

We finally got to meet my newest nephew, Baby Jett (Meredith’s son). He’s adorable and fits right into his beautiful family.
