May Day

This day was so windy I thought our office was going to blow over and then I thought our house was going to blow over once I got home. I think we need to fight Chicago for the title of the “Windy City”.

It started snowing so I settled in with a hot cup of tea and a good book by the fireplace (which we’ve never started a fire in but that’s irrelevant).

Aaaaaand this is what the first day of May looks like. Snow.

Felix gets up with me every morning and jumps on the bathroom counter and watches me get ready. It’s pretty cute company. Sometimes he goes a little crazy (approximately 4-5 times a week) and will scratch at the mirror for a solid minute or two. I’m still convinced the little furball can see ghosts.

We took a bunch of artwork to the frame shop to get custom framed and this was one that we just picked up. It was an intaglio print that Doug did in college. He’s actually not that proud of the work but I insisted we get it framed, I really like it.  It’s a reproduction of a page from Grey’s Anatomy, pretty cool.

Squeaker has to take baths just like any other creature except it’s arguably way cuter when he takes a bath compared to other creatures. He usually does it in the sink but lately he’s been doing it in the cats’ fountain. I don’t know if it’s a power play or it just seems more organic to him but he takes his life into his own little claws every time he does it. I’ll try to get a video of him bathing so you can all see how cute it is. He’s shaking in this picture to get the water down his wings with a hungry predator watching. The whole area gets wet by the time he finishes, provided he took a decent bath; sometimes his baths are questionable.

Shake it, Elvis.  (In case it’s unclear, the bird came to us with the name Elvis but we usually use the nickname “Squeaker” when referring to him.)

All done and drying in the sun. This is a clean Squeaker.

Prelude music/sing along for Professor before our lovely dinner with Rob and Janet. Not only did they come for dinner but they brought us a new chair that I’m so excited about!

Bonus:

(Ignore the stupid dead plants in the background. I have a black thumb and I’m also a little sentimental; that means I kill plants but I can’t get rid of them)
