You were only waiting for this moment to arise

I realized Squeaker hasn’t had as big of a presence on the blog lately. Here he is starring in his very own picture.

Tired after a long day of work. Everyone wanted a cat-nap before dinner (see what I did there?).

Our city isn’t the most interesting of places but occasionally we’ll witness something out of the norm, e.g. a homemade Delorian.

When we left to go to work the other day there was an overabundance of blackbirds in our neighbor’s tree. Of course as soon as we slowed the car down to take a picture they sensed something fishy was going down and bolted. I had The Beatles’ song “Blackbird” stuck in my head for two days after the incident. Oh and there it goes again… Blackbird singing in the dead of niiiight…..

Friday night date: Eggplant dish from Great Hunan for dinner, washed the car, lumbered around Home Depot picking up odds and ends for the remodel. Yep. That was about it. Pretty good night.

I finally got to see my oldest/longest/best buddy Melinda. We only live 30 minutes away from each other, why did it take us a year to get together? We love these two and since they basically abused their daughter and dropped her off with grandma (I’m totally joking) we got them for several hours plus dinner. Aren’t old friends the best? I could reminisce with this girl for days, provided I didn’t die from laughter first.

As usual I kept with my regular St. Patrick’s Day dinner tradition. It’s been made known that I love St Patty’s day, I don’t really have a reason why- it’s just such a silly holiday and  I get to dye everything green. I love it. My parents generously accepted my dinner invitation, but this year they were lucky because I strayed from corned beef and cabbage and just went with regular roast beef  and cabbage. I finally came to the realization that I don’t really like corned beef and besides, I think “corn” should just be a noun or sometimes even an adjective but I don’t think it should ever be used as a verb like the name “corned beef” implies. Especially when you’re dealing with meat. I used up all my green dye early in the day but luckily my primary colors training from preschool really shined through when I remembered I could mix blue and yellow dye. Doug’s birthday cake turned out a beautiful shade of emerald green.

Bonus section!

Generally speaking we’re stretching every day to meet our daily picture goal. Occasionally, however, we end up with a surplus and have to decide on just one. Here’s a few bonus shots from the week.

I don’t know how many times I’ve looked at this picture and it gets me every time. There’s just so many good things about it that I really don’t need to point out but I’m going to anyway: why is he upside down? Why are his legs WIDE open? How did he grow fangs overnight (on Halloween)? Why does he have such a crazed look in his eyes?  Also, you can see Professor’s little hands in the bottom left.

This is the eggplant dish that I am famous for at our favorite little Chinese Restaurant.

We had to squish our couches together so the texture guys can come do our walls and it made for the ultimate napping couch. Just look at that.

Good times! The homemade Delorian was hilarious. Only in Idaho Falls… Those 3 terrorists were kind of scary–but Aly wins for being the prettiest beardface!
