Independence Day is definitely one of my favorite holidays: parades, patriotism, barbecues, junk food, family and fireworks. What’s not to love?
We had a good time at the parade. Thank you dad for our sweet seats…he arrived at 7 AM to make sure we were curbside! Our favorite was the Star Wars club with the legit storm trooper costumes. Ray’s Chevron pulled through with another sweet dance. Loved the bagpipers and Nana waving from the Homestead float! We sat with my family and ended up next to Aunt Linda, Kim, Brittany & Mitch with little Addie (she’s a little doll!)
After the parade we had a yummy barbecue and I made a little patriotic cake.
After dinner we carried on the tradition of fireworks at Mandy and Brady’s. Leave it to Rexburg to somehow manage to get cold on July 4th!
Suzy (Sutton) Hilman was up there and we were determined to get a good photo of writing in the air with glow sticks. What happened instead was me looking like an idiot waving around a giant glow stick for 20 seconds for the slow shutter. Oh well, maybe next time.
I think Doug did pretty good with the firework pictures, however.
I’m already excited for 4th of July next year!
